One of my neighbors and I replaced our fence yesterday. He had a couple of buddies come over with all the fencing gear (post-hole digger, compressor, nail-gun, and one long piece of string). We fenced all day long, here's the result -

We had Matthew West at Northside this weekend as our special guest performer. He was great! It's so cool to worship The Creator of the universe with someone He has given a special gift to. Matthew went over to hang out with the Youth Group after the Saturday night service. He was great and the Youth Group had a blast. After hanging for a while, he borrowed a guitar and sang some songs. He had a lot of fun with everyone. My wife and son actually got to hang out with Matthew some during the weekend (since my wife was one of the hostesses for the special guests). Now my son wants to go to Spirit West Coast this summer to see Matthew perform again! Here's a short video I made with my phone up in the Youth Room.

My Celebrity Look-a-Likes
Yep, these are the dudes that I look like. I always knew I was a lot like Chuck Norris, but I didn't know just how much until I did this Look-a-Like deal. Starting at the top left it's, Michael Rosenbaum, Mark Wahlberg, Patrick Swayze, Paul Allen (I wish my wallet looked like his), Heath Ledger, Brian Littrell, Alec Baldwin, and of course Chuck Norris. Actually most people mistake me for Brad Pitt, this face recognition software must be faulty. Well, there it is then...

Distractions
Today, I am struck by the distractions we have in life. Each day, I have a chance to spend time on my priorities, but how much time do I waste on distractions? Lots. What are these distractions you ask? How about - a cool flat panel plasma TV with some High-def programming; a computer with e-mail that needs to be read; a guitar with songs that need to be learned and practiced; a yard that needs mowing; a tree that needs trimming; weeds that need pulling; TaylorMade r7 irons and Burner metals that need to hit little white balls. And now, a BLOG that needs writing! Do I need to do all these things? No. What do I need to do? What do I have to do? Of course I have many things that have to be done - I have to go to work; I have to sleep; I have to maintain the house, the car, the yard; and a zillion other things that always need to get done. What should I be doing? I should be spending time with Tracy, Nick and other good friends. I should be spending time with the Creator of the Universe, who wants me to hang out with Him. The tirany of the urgent is always nagging for my time. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to spend some time on the important stuff!
